Terms and Conditions

ACCEPTANCE

The Bansela Programme is brought to you by Heineken® Beverages Limited.

These Terms and Conditions constitute an agreement between you and us and govern your and our rights and obligations once you have been registered on the Bansela Programme and each time you access or use theBansela website, App or USSD functions.

By accessing the Bansela website, APP or USSD, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, and that you have consented to us sharing your personal information with our Loyalty Programme Service Provider, in the ordinary course of running the programme.

Participation in the Bansela Programme is entirely voluntary and you only stand to gain by participating. Should you take part in any fraudulent activity, your participation will be revoked and your account closed immediately.

Bansela participation is free, in that you will not be charged:

  • a joining fee; or
  • a periodic membership fee; or
  • for earning Bansela Bucks.

 

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The personal information you have provided, or that has been provided, to the Programme Service Provider, has been requested for:

  • registration for the Bansela Programme;
  • creation of your unique Username and Password;
  • providing Balance SMSs, where applicable, as well as;
  • management reporting on the effectiveness of the Bansela Programme.

Any further processing of your personal information will require your consent.

You have the right, in accordance with the relevant legislation, to:

  • obtain access to your personal information held by the Programme Service Provider;
  • request the correction, destruction or deletion of your personal information held by the Programme Service Provider;
  • object to the processing of your personal information

It remains your responsibility to inform Bansela of any changes to your personal information.

Questions regarding the above, amendments to personal information as well as any objections may be raised by calling the following number:  0800 Distell (347835).

 

HOW TO REGISTER

Identified outlets are loaded onto the Heineken® Beverages Master File and uploaded to the linked Reps’ scoresheet.  Your Rep must explain how the Programme works to you and then register you with the missing information (first name, surname, cell number and opt in plus confirm that the pre populated information is correct on agreement of participation).

Once registered you will receive your unique login details (Username and password).

You are responsible for safeguarding your login details.

You agree not to disclose your login details to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorised use of your login details or account.

If licensed outlet owners wish to register managers as Bansela programme participants, they must accept that, in doing so, any Bansela Bucks earned and/or prizes won cannot be claimed by themselves and will instead be awarded to their outlet managers.

 

WEBSITE ACCESS

The Bansela website server will collect IP addresses of visitors who accesses it.

This Website makes use of cookies to identify the computer device with which you connect to this Website. Heineken® Beverages reserves the right to restrict your use and access to this Website or part(s) thereof in the event of any unauthorised use thereof.

 

HOW TO EARN BANSELA BUCKS:

As an active, registered participant, you receive Bansela Bucks by following the Bansela Way!

Bansela Bucks are earned on a month-to-month basis and are issued for scoring positively on specific programme measures, namely Availability, Affordability, and Accessibility.

 

HOW TO REDEEM BANSELA POINTS:

Bucks can be redeemed by placing an order for vouchers via the cell phone USSD or by contacting the Bansela Contact Centre.

A Balance SMS will be sent to participants whenever there is a change in their account balance. Reasonable care is taken to ensure the accuracy of the data provided. However, official records will prevail in the case of a discrepancy between the SMS received.

 

Heineken® Beverages TRADE ACCOUNT: POINTS CONVERSION TO CREDIT *

* This service is reserved to ALL segmentations

You can use your Bansela Bucks as a monetary contribution to top up your Heineken® Beverages stock, if you have a Heineken® Beverages Trade account

Converting your Bansela Bucks into Heineken® Beverages credit can be done via the Bansela USSD.

Dial *120*26687# to access the service.   In the menu select “Transfer to Distell Trade account” and you can either transfer all of your available points or you can insert the value you wish to transfer. 

There is no minimum value but a 5% transfer fee will apply. 

Once complete your Heineken® Beverages Trade Account will be credited within 7-10 working days

BALANCE SMS

As a Bansela participant, if you have earned Bansela Bucks, a Balance SMS will be sent to your registered cell phone number whenever there is a change to your balance.

Reasonable care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the data provided to you; however, our official records will prevail in the case of any discrepancy.

 

PRIZE WINNER SELECTIONS

Selection of winners is determined by region, and names will be randomly selected using an automated randomizer and authenticated by a Heineken® Beverages Auditor or the Programme Service Provider Auditor.

Only outlets deemed compliant for a specified period will be eligible for the prize draw for that period only.

All prizes are pre-selected and are non-negotiable or transferable.

Prizes consisting of a television will only be dispatched to the prize winner on receipt of a copy of a valid and paid-up TV licence. This prize excludes installation, DSTV contract and/or TV licence application.

Please contact the Bansela call centre or scan and email a valid copy of your TV license and a copy of your ID document.

In terms of the Broadcasting Act No 4 of 1999, as amended, and the Television Licence Regulations, the Program Organisers may not dispatch a television set or television tuner card to a customer who is not in possession of a valid (paid-up) television licence. Go to www.tvlic.co.za for more information. 

Please contact the Bansela contact centre or scan and email a valid copy of your TV license and a copy of your ID document. If you are unsure of the validity of your licence, contact the SABC VALIDATION CALL CENTRE on 011 330 9704.

The operating hours of the SABC Validation Call Centre are as follows:

Monday to Friday: 07h30 to 18h00
Saturdays: 08h00 to 17h00
Sundays: 09h00 to 15h00


Conditions for travel prizes:

  • Registered Heineken® Beverages customers and Bansela participants are only legible for prizes.
  • Partners are not permitted, unless otherwise stated in the specific competition.

A. Local destinations

All prize winners (and partners where applicable) will be required to submit copies of their South African Identification document before travel arrangements can be made.

The prize may include (but is not limited to) flights, accommodation, and meal and beverage allowances.

B: International destinations


All prize winners (and partners where applicable) will be required to submit copies of their South African ID document as well as copies of their passports.

If you are not in possession of a passport and unable to obtain one in time for departure, your prize will be forfeited and afforded to the runner up.
The Department of Home Affairs no longer issues temporary passports for travel.

The prize may include (but is not limited to) flights, accommodation, and meal and beverage allowances.

Conditions on receiving your prize

Winners will be notified of their prize post the draw date. Prizes will only be dispatched once the winner has been authenticated and delivery and contact details validated by a Bansela contact centre agent.

Unless otherwise specified in these Terms and Conditions, Bansela will endeavor to deliver your prize within 30 days from dispatch.

When the courier delivers your parcel, before signing the waybill, you must open and check that you have received the correct items and that no item is damaged.

The courier may not leave a parcel that has not been opened and checked.

Important: Keep the original packaging for at least 10 working days so that if you need to return the item, you have the necessary packaging.

If you are not satisfied with the condition of the prize, you may return it for a replacement provided:

  • You contact the Bansela call centre within 10 working days of receiving your prize.
  • The item is unused and returned in its original packaging (to validate the warranty).

What you need to do if you are not satisfied with the condition of your prize:

  1. Contact the call centre.
  2. Tell the call centre agent the reasons you are dissatisfied with your prize.
  3. Obtain a reference number from the call centre agent.
  4. Provide the call centre agent with an address where the prize can be collected during office hours and please ensure someone is available to sign for the parcel.
  5. Obtain the expected date of collection from the call centre agent.
  6. When the courier collects the prize from you, check the pre-printed waybill to ensure the details are correct, and then sign it.

 

GENERAL

Heineken® Beverages reserves the right to change the programme in any way or terminate the programme at any time.

If your outlet loses its liquor licence, you may no longer participate in the programme.

Any fraudulent activity discovered will result in immediate cancellation and forfeiture of Bansela Bucks.

Bansela Bucks cannot be converted to cash.

For merchandise and delivery terms and conditions, please refer to the ordering rules on the website.

The website rules will be deemed the latest rules.

Should you voluntarily leave the programme, you will have 30 days in which to spend your Bansela Bucks before they are forfeited.

If the programme terminates you will have 90 days in which to spend your Bansela Bucks before they are forfeited.

Stock outs:  Bansela Bucks will be rewarded on proof of order placed.

In order to qualify for a fridge you must have minimum cold sales per week of 12 cases of 660ml or 16 cases 440ml or 18 cases 330ml NRB (or a combination thereof).

Should errors or discrepancies in the allocation of Bansela points be found OR awarding of Bansela prize winners that are not eligible, Bansela and Heineken® Beverages reserve the right to implement measures to rectify such errors and/or discrepancies. The relevant customer will, however, be advised of should any remedial steps be taken.

As a registered Bansela member, you are not eligible to participate in any other Heineken® Beverages loyalty/rewards programme, e.g Upsella, and any other Trade Incentives offered, which include (but are not restricted to) sprints, promotions and competitions.

Should the Bansela organizers and/or Heineken® Beverages be made aware of your participation in more than one programme, Bansela, in conjunction with the Heineken® Beverages Sales Team, will decide which programme best benefits you, based on past performance.

If you are an outlet owner, you may register your management team on the Programme. In doing so, you as the outlet owner forfeits the claim to any prizes won by the management team and all prizes will be given to the management team.

Any fraudulent activity by a participant will lead to immediate removal from the Programme and such participant will forfeit all benefits to the Programme.
